It’s been a weird 12 months for my home town; started on somewhat of a low with the Clutha tragedy fallout, built up again with the Commonwealth Games and the run up to the Indy Referendum, and dipped back down again with the trouble after that, and the horror in George Square just in the past fortnight.

Lights out at Murrayfield

You don’t see the Haka, you experience it…

Like many people, I have a bucket list of sorts; stuff I want to see or do before I finally kick the bucket and shuffle off this mortal coil. A lot of things are probably a bit too big for me to really do – I want to go see a live WrestleMania, a want to see a Superbowl, I want to see a Houston Astros game… and one of them? I ticked it off this weekend.

I sit here, at 6.30am, unable to sleep thanks to copious amounts of coffee, energy drink, Tunnock’s Teacakes and for once, political intrigue.

So the Commonwealth Games have been and gone, and as I rattle the keys on my overworked laptop, Clyde is on S1Jobs.com looking for his next gig.

So the Commonwealth Games have been and gone, and as I rattle the keys on my overworked laptop, Clyde is on S1Jobs.com looking for his next gig. Glasgow has been hosting the 20th incarnation of the Games since last Wednesday, when we blew into town with dancing Tunnocks Teacakes, John Barrowman kissing and wee Scottie dugs stealing the show.
